If you have a digital camera but limited computer skills, then this course
may be what you are looking for - computer basics as they apply to digital
cameras. The general aims are to make you comfortable with connecting your
camera to the computer and copying photographs to the computer. Once the
photos are on your computer you will learn how to organize them, rename them
as needed, create folders as needed, create albums, delete duds, mark
favourites, make minor exposure and editing corrections including fixing red
eye, cropping, adjusting the white balance, straightening horizons and so
on. You will learn special techniques to create black and white photos,
old-time sepia photos, romantic misty photos - all very easily, all
reversible if you don’t like the results! You will learn to burn your photos
to CD or DVD so you have backups. With a Google email address you can create
Internet albums of your photos to share with family and friends. We do
assume you know how to use a mouse and can start programs. A complete set of
course notes - nearly 200 pages - will ensure that you have your own
permanent reference to all the materials covered in class. All the software
will be provided for you to take home on a CD! Materials fee of $20.00 cash
on the first night. Dates: Oct. 5, Oct. 12, Oct. 19, Nov. 16, Nov. 23, Nov.
